Pastor of Ødum-Hadbjerg Church.
In 1998 – the 50th anniversary of the Danish journal Heretica – I published the book Den tavse Gud – en læsning af Heretica 1948-53 (Anis) (The silent God – a reading of Heretica 1948-53), in which I focus on the ethical aspect in poetry and literature. In my book I attempt to clarify what influenced prominent Danish prose writers and poets like Ole Wivel, Tage Skou-Hansen and Martin A. Hansen in their writings to turn away from poetic knowledge towards ethical understanding. Where did ethics come into the picture and why in particular did these writers insist so strongly upon an ethical aspect? There are hints that an evangelical understanding tends to become normative for the mentioned writers.
My present work focuses on Martin A. Hansen and it is my aim, in 2008, to publish a book or an article on Martin A. Hansen’s influence on Heretica , viewed in the light of his understanding of Christianity as defining the norms. (2008 is the 60th anniversary of Heretica and the year after the 100th birth anniversary of Martin A. Hansen).
